Backpacks and Saturday Stuff

Ellie came home with backpacks this weekend, they're big on her small stature, but she doesn't seem mind them at all.
Today we went to the library and worked on her commands. Downstairs in our library is pretty empty, so it's a great place to work with a dog. She looks adorable holding her leash, and looks so professional with her backpacks it made a good picture :)
I had her heel while holding her leash in her mouth and she walked next to me very nicely, all the way up the stairs. Even though it was just biting cold outside, around 20 degrees with a heavy breeze, I walked Ellie around town to expose her to the necessary sights and sounds.

Ellie surveying her land.....
Some balloons waving in the windAnd we also went to the graveyard and Ellie got to see Emily Dickinson's gravestone.
Beyond that, no pictures, but we also went to Trader Joe's and she was a good girl weaving through the pre-superbowl crowd in her big backpacks.

Then we went to the Home Depot, and I worked on commands. Ellie is much happier when she has something to do, like fetching a coin, a pen, her leash or anything. Another one of her absolute favorite commands is "back", she just loooooves backing up. So far she doesn't have it quite down to go straight, but she's still pretty good.

Even though she was tired when we got home, she had a great time racing around the yard and playing tug with me. I think she was just tired of working.....She has a lot more energy to work now that she's older.

She's such a good girl....I love her so much :)

A light in the darkness....

Smart Ellie can turn on any light no matter what is standing in her way :)

I hope this isn't too bad of quality, sometimes when I put things through YouTube, they blur, plus I took these in the dark. But you get the picture. In the last panel, I taught her to push open the door but I didn't teach her to open it all the way, that was her own doing. It's very useful.
